what type of network does boost mobile offer?
Hi, i was in the market for a boost mobile phone, i was interested in the i465 I think thats the name, but I was wondering does boost mobile have a 2g or more internet, cause I am not pleased with metro pcs web does anyone know if boost mobile internet is good or what thanks
Boost mobile walkie talkie is on a 2g technology called iden. It’s web is cheap but slow at 14.4k. Dialup speeds compared to the high speed 3G from Metro and others. That is one reason why it is so cheap. You can speed it up by using Opera Mini as your browser as it uses compression technology, but for things like streaming video and other data heavy applications which can’t really be compressed, not so hot.
Idk about Metro web but Boost web is slower .
You could join Page Plus which runs on Verizon for better overall coverage then both Metro or Boost, use a Verizon smartphone on there with wifi.
They have a new 39.95 unlimited talk/text/20 meg plan . Their weakpoint is web but if you have a phone with wifi and access to hotspots, it will generally be faster then most 3g mobile web connections and it is unlimited and free. Boost doesn’t have any phones with wifi at the moment unfortunately.
You could also check out Platinumtel which sells cheap Motorola Qs and Q9s. They offer a unlimited talk/text/100 megs web plan on the Sprint network and for an extra $10, there is an unlimited web option at high speed 3G . You can only use their phones , no Sprint ones either even though they run on the same network. They haven’t advertised their new unlimited $10 web option yet, but you might want to call them up and ask.
You would probably have to do most of your business with them online as they are not as well known as Metro and Boost. http://www.platinumtel.com/
